동쪽에 있다는 누베이 수도원으로 가는 길은 생각보다 험난했다.모르긴 몰라도 성 스탈데일보다 더 오지인 것 같았다.길이 현저히 좁아지고 험난해지며 녹음이 줄어들고, 벌침처럼 따가운 땡볕이 대지의 곳곳에서 활개치고 있었다.사막이 가까워지고 있었다.그럴수록 일행은 금방 지쳤고 자주 쉴수록 시간이 지체되었다.이토록 긴 여행을 한 적이 없는 프레야에게는 특히나 고역이었다.이틀째부터 발에 물집이 생기고 퉁퉁 붓더니 이제는 절뚝거릴 때마다 온몸이 두들겨 맞은 것처럼 쑤셨다.쩔뚝거리고 힘들어하는 프레야를 위해서 나귀의 등에서 짐을 내리고 대신 프레야를 태웠다.짐은 다른 이들이 나누어 짊어져야 했다.프레야는 왜 이렇게까지 하면서 자신이 누베이 수도원으로 피신해야 하는지 이해할 수 없었다.물론 그 이유를 알게 되더라도 프..
